Returning to work after a weekend could make you feel a little sluggish right? Then, after a week or month, consider returning to work. It is undoubtedly a difficult task.

Employees who are absent from work for an extended period can have a variety of reasons. It could be maternity leave, caring or sick leave for a loved one, recovering from an illness, or an unexpected incident, such as the death of a close one, for which you need time to heal.

On one hand, it is quite reasonable that returning to work after a long period of absence is difficult. However, effective planning before you go on leave and continuing until you return to work will significantly help you.

Schedule a meeting with the supervisor

When you’re ready to get back to work, this is one of the most critical measures to take. Schedule a meeting with the person to whom you will be reporting. It may be your team lead or the HR department.

Discuss your personal circumstances in detail. If you have recovered from an illness and if you require any extra care. Notify the supervisor ahead of time.
